The cartoon depicts the charge that Jews fabricate attacks on themselves to gain public sympathy. But while he aims at denying that anti-Semitism is real, the way the artist has drawn the Jew - big hook nose, large lips, beady eyes, stoop - all keep to the traditional Nazi depicition of the Jew, and shows us where the artist's views of Jews come from.
