Religious Figures

“Christ at the Checkpoint 2012 Conference” is a Christian attack against the idea of a Jewish homeland

In March of 2012, the Bible College in Bethlehem will host dozens of US theologians, activists and ministries for the “Christ at the Checkpoint 2012 Conference.” Bethlehem Bible College trains Christian servant-leaders for the churches and society within an Arab context. Founded in 1979 by local Arabs, the college usually enrolls 135 students who are interested in Christian service in the Middle East.

Preacher Keith Hudson is in the business of hating Jews

Preacher Keith Hudson, father of pop star Kate Perry, ranted against Jews in the Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio. He pleased hundreds of followers who promptly passed around the plate for contributions to him and his wife.

“You know how to make the Jew jealous? Have some money, honey,” he preached.

"You go to LA and they own all the Rolex and diamond places. Walk down a part of LA where we live and it is so rich it smells. You ever smell rich? They are all Jews, hallelujah. Amen."

UK Church leaders instigate hatred against Jews and Israel

Giulio Meotti, Italian journalist with Il Foglio, remarked on UK clerics during the 2011 Christmas season as preaching "good will to all men," but not, apparently, to Israelis.

Archbishop Vincent Nichols, the head of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, made a comparison between Palestinians and Jesus’ passion. “We are to be freshly attentive to the needs of those who, like Jesus himself, are displaced and in discomfort”, he said during his Christmas Mass sermon at Westminster Cathedral. “A shadow falls particularly heavily on the town of Bethlehem tonight … We pray for them tonight.”

Nichols’ sermon has historical value, because now the entire Christian hierarchy in the UK, Catholic and Protestant as well, is part of the global battle against Israel.

Bishop George Saliba expresses his hatred of Jews

George Saliba, Archbishop of Mount Lebanon and Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Syrian Orthodox Church, explained the unrest in the Arab world as due to Zionists in an interview on Al-Dunya TV on July 24, 2011.

Protest outside Muslim conference in Toronto featuring speakers linked to anti-Semitic remarks

More than 75 peaceful protesters were on the sidewalk carrying Israeli flags in front of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Canadian headquarters in Clarkson on Oct. 23, 2011, demonstrating their opposition to a Calling the World Back to Allah conference featuring speakers who have been previously linked to allegations of anti-Semitic and anti-gay remarks. They also carried signs that read "Stop Islamic Racism."

The Jewish National League was joined by several other faith groups, including the International Christian Voice, headed locally by slain Pakistani Minorities Minister's brother Peter Bhatti, the Canadian Hindu Advocacy, headed by Ron Banerjee, the Canadian Egyptian Congress, the Costa Christian Mission, and the Lakshmi Narayan Hindu Temple.

Raed Salah branded as a man of hate by British Immigration Tribunal

On Oct. 26, 2011, an immigration tribunal in Britain concluded that Raed Salah had engaged in “the unacceptable behavior of fostering hatred” that might lead to intercommunity violence in the UK.

The tribunal considered five pieces of evidence against Salah: a poem he wrote, a speech in which he invoked a blood libel slur against Jews, claims that Israel intends to destroy the Aksa Mosque, charges he currently faces in Israel for incitement to violence and anti-Semitism, and his conviction for funding organizations linked to Hamas.

Greek Bishop’s Clarification: Jews are Satanists who want to take over the World

A bewildering letter of clarification by Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus seeks to clarify that he does not hate Jews (recognizing that Jesus was born a Jew), but claims that the Jews have since been lead into Satanism by the teachings of the Talmud, the Rabbis and the Kabbalah, and that Zionism is a conspiracy to take over the world. Metropolitan Seraphim further seems to believe that because he has already publicly declared his belief in these crackpot theories in the past, he should be exempt from the angry reaction shown at his most recent pronouncements.

Mohammad Amin al-Hussaini
