The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart believes to have found the real reason certain senators oppose Elena Kagan’s Supreme Court nomination: her religion.
During Kagan’s confirmation hearing, several senators attacked Kagan for her different “background”, “beliefs” and New York childhood.
How did Stewart respond? “Let's cut to the chase: You’re a Jew! You're from Jew-sylvania! Your favorite candy is Jew-Jew-Be! You love to play Jew-manji. Your favorite musical is... all of them.”
When Sen. Lindsey Graham asked Kagan how she spent her Christmas day, another poke at her religion, she answered, “You know, like all Jews I was probably in a Chinese restaurant.”
