Nazism in Iraq, a Symposium

A new book about “Al Farhud”, the large scale attacks committed against the Jews of Iraq by their countrymen and their government in 1941, is the backdrop for a symposium that will take place in Jerusalem on May 22nd.

 

 

 

Participants will be Dr. Zvi Yehuda, Director of the Babylonian Jewry Research Institute, Professor Robert S. Wistrich, Head of the Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism at the Hebrew University and author of the landmark history of antisemtism “A Lethal Obsession: Antisemitism - From Antiquity to the Global Jihad”, Dr. Esther Meir-Glizenstein from Ben Gurion University, and Prof. Shmuel Moreh of the Hebrew University, who co-authored the new book.

 

The symposium will take place at the Maiersdorf Faculty Club, Mount Scopus Campus, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Invitations can be obtained via the website of the Sassoon Center, at http://sicsa.huji.ac.il/06calend.html
