Vanguard News Network (VNN)

Background

Launched in 2000, the Vanguard News Network (VNN) is among the most active white supremacist hate sites on the Internet.

The website consists of two parts. First is the news section, where news articles and opinion pieces of interest to white supremacists are posted. The second part is an online message forum, where white supremacists post messages and have online discussions.

The websites’ header reads: “No Jews, Just Right.”

Ownership

The website was started and is maintained by Alex Linder of Kirksville, MO. He is a neo-Nazi and former member of the neo-Nazi National Alliance. He left the organization after he refused to censer criticism about it on VNN.

Scope

According to the Anti-Defamation League, VNN is one of the most prominent white supremacist hate sites on the Internet. Unlike several other hate sites, VNN’s forums permit criticisms of the white power movement. This has led to a growth in the website’s popularity among the online white supremacist community.
